She returned with water and told me to get my own lemon at the buffet before returning to the waitress stand to chit-chat with her friends. 5 minutes after getting a table with a screen, the waitress arrived and took my drink order for a water with a slice of lemon. After I said that was unacceptable, she went away to get approval for me to have a 4 person table. ![]() She offered to seat me at a near-by 2 person table without a screen so that I could wait for the 2 person table with the screen to be vacated. She explained that I could only sit at a 2 person table or the waitress would get upset. Upon arrival in the ¾ empty dining room, I asked for a table with a screen for offtrack and the hostess walked me past at least 10 empty 4 person table to a 2 person table that was already occupied. Tonight I found an opportunity to visit the Rideau Carleton Raceway for the buffet and the second half of the off-track races. I have not been to the track in years but I used to go 2-3 times a week for off-track and typically played with a bankroll between $400 and $700 each night.
